Stone Jar Molasses Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 cup light molasses | ||
| Shortening | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 2 1/4 cups Gold Medal Flour | ||
| Baking powder | 1 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ginger | 1 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Heat molasses to boiling point.
Remove from heat.
Stir in shortening and soda.
Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.
Blend remaining ingredients together; stir in.
Chill dough.
Heat oven to 350°
Roll dough out very thin (1/16") on lightly floured board.
Cut in desired shapes.
Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 5 to 7 min., or until set.
Do not overbake
