Stewed Chicken With Pork Recipe
Ingredients
1 clove garlic
1 small slice of fresh ginger root
8 ounces pork, cut into 1 inch cubes
8 ounces chicken, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 tablespoons cooking oil
4 tablespoons soy sauce
3 teaspoons sugar
3 tablespoons dry sherry
Water barely enough to cover ingredients
1 tablespoon cornstarch in 2 tablespoons cold water, optional
Directions
Brown the garlic, ginger, pork, and chicken in 2 tablespoons of cooking oil over medium-high heat.
Add soy sauce, sugar, sherry, and sufficient water to cover meat.
Cover and simmer over low heat for about an hour or until meat is tender.
Remove ginger and garlic clove.
Serve meat hot with the sauce.
If you wish, the sauce may be thickened by adding 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of cold water to the sauce.
Heat until the sauce thickens and is clear.
