Steamed Mussels In Wine Sauce Recipe
The steamed mussels in wine sauce is an elegant dish that can be prepared for parties. If you are apprehensive about cooking mussels, try this recipe and you will not be dissapointed. Flavored with peppercorns, parsley, garlic and cooked along with celery and onions, I often prepare these steamed mussels in white wine sauce as a party dish.
Ingredients
| Mussels | 2 Pound | |
| Onion | 1 Large, minced | |
| Stalk celery | 1 Large, minced | |
| Peppercorns | 4 | |
| Dry white wine | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Flour | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Vinegar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Parsley | 1 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm) | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste |
Directions
Scrub mussels well with a vegetable brush and rinse.
Put into a kettle with onion, celery, peppercorns, and white wine.
Cover and steam until they open, discarding any that are unopened.
Put mussels onto a deep platter.
Cover and keep warm.
Strain liquid and simmer.
Mix butter and flour together in a small bowl; stir into hot liquid.
Add vinegar, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper; continue to simmer until liquid is reduced by half.
To serve, pour sauce over mussels
