Steamed Date Pudding Recipe

The steamed date pudding is one of my favorite pudding. Made with dates and bread crumbs, the steamed date pudding is prepared along with milk and egg with sugar for sweetness. Moist and delicious, the steamed date pudding is great when dates are in season.

Dates- 1 pound
 
Suet- 1/2 pound
 
Bread crumbs- 3 cups
 
Sugar- 3/4 cup
 
Egg- 1, beaten
 
Milk- 1/2 cup
 
Flour- 4 tablespoons
 
Baking powder- 2 teaspoons

Directions

GETTING READY
1.Start by grinding the dates and suet very fine
MAKING
2.Mix with bread crumbs and add sugar.
3.Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
4.Fill greased pudding mold 2/3 full, cover tightly and steam 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
SERVING
5.Serve with cream or fruits
