Ingredients

 
1 cup rice
 
2 cups cold water
 
1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Use 2-quart sauce pan no double boiler necessary.
Wash rice thoroughly in cold water.
Drain.
Place rice, water and salt in 2-quart sauce pan.
Place over medium-high heat until water boils
Reduce heat to low and boil gently for exactly 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to stand in warm place for 10 minutes.
DO NOT LIFT COVER ONCE UNTIL END OF THIS TIME.
The water should be absorbed and rice grains separated.
If necessary, to keep hot for some time, lift cover, sprinkle a little hot water over rice.
Then lay folded cloth over top and put cover on.
If set in warm place, it will keep several hours.
