Steamed Fruit Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
| Soda bicarbonate | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Cold water | 6 Tablespoon | |
| Butter | 4 Ounce | |
| 5 scant | ||
| Hot water | 5 Pint | |
| 1/4lb.sultanas | ||
| 1/2 lb.raisins | ||
| 1/4 lb.currants | ||
| Cherries | 2 Ounce | |
| Peel | 2 Ounce, mixed | |
| Plain flour | 8 Ounce | |
| Brown sugar | 5 Ounce | |
| Mixed spice | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Brandy | 5 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Dissolve bicarbonate of soda in the cold water; melt butter in the hot water.
Chop fruit.
Put all dry ingredients in basin and mix with the liquid; add brandy; allow to stand overnight.
Mixture thickens with standing.
Next day, place mixture into a greased 3 pint pudding basin, steam for 4 hours.
