1/4 cup margarine
 
1 tsp garlic powder
 
1 lb. beef tenderloin (8 slices)
 
1/2 tsp steak sauce
 
1/4 tsp bay leaf, crushed
 
1 tsp lemon juice
 
1/2 tsp salt
 
Dash pepper

Directions

Melt margarine and combine with garlic powder.
Set aside for 20 minutes to allow flavor to develop.
Heat 1 tsp (15 ml) of the garlic margarine in heavy skillet until very hot.
Place as many beef tenderloin slices as possible in skillet; brown on both sides.
Remove to warm steak platter.
Repeat with remaining beef, if necessary.
Reduce heat.
Add remaining garlic margarine to pan.
Add steak sauce, bay leaf, lemon juice, salt, and pepper; blend thoroughly.
Pour over beef tenderloin on platter.
