St Patrick'S Day Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup finely crushed Post Sugar Krinkles
3 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 teaspoons Calumet Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter or other shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla Or use 1 cup finely crushed Post Toasties, Post 40% Bran Flakes, or Grape-Nuts Flakes.
Directions
Crush cereal and measure.
Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt, and sift again.
Cream shortening and add sugar gradually, creaming thoroughly.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Add cereal and blend well.
Add flour mixture gradually, mixing well after each addition.
Chill dough until firm.
Roll 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board and cut with floured shamrock, hat, and pipe cooky cutters.
Or use 1 1/2-inch round cooky cutter and arrange three cookies to make a shamrock.
Use strip of green gumdrop for stem.
Or make patterns from cardboard, place on dough, and cut out with knife.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet in hot oven (400° F.) 7 to 8 minutes, or until done.
