Spumoni Recipe

This spumoni looks feels and tastes great all at the same time. What else one can ask for? The italian couldn't have come up with a better dish than this spumoni, specially when it comes to culinary creativity. This spumoni makes a compelling dessert for most party meals. The spumoni is made with alcohol which is easily available at any grocery store. You don't need to think more. Just prepare this spumoni now!

Ingredients

 
1/2 cup Marsala
 
3 egg yolks
 
1 to 2 tablespoons honey
 
2 tablespoons water
 
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
 
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
 
2 tablespoons chopped, toasted almonds

Directions

In the top of a double boiler, put Marsala, egg yolks, honey, water, and almond extract.
Place over simmering water.
Beat constantly with a wire whisk until mixture is warm and begins to thicken.
Do not allow to boil.
Remove from water and beat until mixture becomes smooth and thick.
Fold in whipped cream and mix carefully.
Spoon into individual custard cups, cover, and freeze for about 6 hours.
When ready to serve, remove from freezer, and sprinkle with chopped, toasted almonds.
