Homemade Spritz Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Powdered sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Almond extract | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Egg yolk | 1 , beaten | |
| Cake flour | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Egg white | 1 | |
| Colored coarse sugar crystals | ||
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 °F.
Cream butter.
Add powdered sugar; beat well, until soft and creamy.
Add almond extract and egg yolk.
Gradually stir in sifted flour and salt.
Put into cookie press.
Using various forms of nozzles, as available, press out shapes onto un greased baking sheet.
Brush with egg white beaten until frothy with few drops water.
Sprinkle with colored crystals or with chopped nuts or decoret-tes.
Bake about 8 minutes or until very lightly browned.
