4 eggs separated
 
3 tsp granulated sugar
 
1/2 cup hot water
 
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
 
1 1/2 cup cake flour, sifted
 
1/4 tsp salt
 
1/4 tsp baking powder

Directions

With electric beater, beat egg yolks and sugar replacement until thick and lemon-colored.
Beat in hot water and vanilla.
Combine cake flour, salt and baking powder in sifter; sift and stir into the egg yolk mixture.
Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into egg yolk mixture.
Spoon batter into ungreased 9 in. (23 cm) tube pan.
Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 55 to 60 minutes, or until cake is done.
Invert pan and allow cake to cool at least 1 hour.
Remove from pan.
