Split Pea Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| Split peas | 16 Ounce, dried | |
| Water | 2 Quart | |
| Onion | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Carrot | 1 | |
| Potato | 1 | |
| Healthy Choice ham - 8 ounces | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Black pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Tarragon | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
MAKING
1) Wash and sort the peas.
2) Add water 2 inches above the peas and soak overnight. Drain.
3) Transfer the peas into a pot with 2 quarts water, vegetables, ham and seasonings and allow to boil.
4) Place a lid and lower heat. Simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
5) Thin down with water if too thick.
6) This soup can be made in a crockpot.
SERVING
7) Garnish with grated carrot and serve.
