Ingredients

 4 cups chicken broth, defatted
 1 cup dried split peas, sorted and rinsed
 Carrots1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Onions1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Celery1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 2 ounces turkey ham, finely chopped
 Dried marjoram1/4 Teaspoon
 Liquid smoke1/8 Teaspoon
 Bay Leaf1

Directions

In a large saucepan, combine the broth and peas.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat.
Cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Add the carrots, onions, celery, turkey ham, marjoram, liquid smoke and bay leaf.
Return to a boil, then reduce the heat.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes to blend the flavors.
Remove and discard the bay leaf before serving.
