Split Pea Soup With Ham Recipe
Ingredients
| Onion | 1 Large, chopped | |
| 4 stalks celery chopped | ||
| Ham hock bone, with some fat | ||
| Parsley | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), chopped | |
| Carrot | 1 , chopped | |
| Water | 2 Quart | |
| Split peas package | 1 | |
| Ground black pepper | 1 To taste | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
Saute onion and celery in ham fat.
Add parsley, garlic and carrot.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add ham hock, split peas and water to vegetables and simmer on top of the stove until thoroughly done, or process in the pressure cooker about 20 minutes.
This may be frozen and is really more flavorful after freezing or if it has been in the refrigerator overnight.
