Split Pea And Ham Soup Recipe

Ingredients
2 quarts boiling water
1 pound split dried peas
Ham bone
1 small onion, sliced
5 peppercorns
1 cup diced cooked ham
1/2 cup diced potato
1/3 cup sliced carrot
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Combine water, peas, ham bone, onion and peppercorns in 4-quart mixing bowl.
Cover tightly.
MICROWAVE 25 MINUTES on HIGH, or until peas are tender, stirring after 15 minutes.
Remove ham bone.
Cut away any meat and add to soup.
Add diced ham, potatoes and carrots.
Cover.
MICRO WAVE 15 to 20 MINUTES on HIGH, or until vegetables are tender-crisp.
Taste for seasoning and correct.
