Spinach Pie Recipe
The spinach pie is a heathy and delcious main course pie that can be served for a meal. Microwaved with potato layer, with pepper, butter and milk, the pie is made with spinach, cheese, breadcrumbs and flour and is filling and homely.
Ingredients
For the potato layer
500 gms. boiled potatoes Imashed grated)
100 gms. salted butter
50 ml. milk
Salt to taste
1 tsp. pepper powder
For the spinach layer (chopped)
300 gms. spinach leaveslchopped)
30 gms. plain flour
30 gms. salted butter
500 ml. milk
Salt to taste
1 tsp. white pepper powder
For the topping
100 gms. processed cheese (grated)
50 gms. bread crumbs
30 gms. butter
Directions
To make the potato layer Mash or grate the potatoes.
Mix in salt, pepper powder, melted butter and milk.
Mix well, to avoid lumps.
To make the spinach layer Place the washed spinach leaves, in a 1 litre dish.
Microwave, partially covered, on AUTO COOK 3 after increasing the quantity to 300 gms.
Heat butter, in a 2 litre dish, on 100% power for 40 seconds.
Add the flour, mix and microwave on 100%power for 2:30 minutes.
Stir 2-3 times during cooking.
Pour in the milk, in a stream and stir constantly to avoid lumps.
Microwave on 100% power for 7:00 minutes.
Stir 2-3 times during cooking.
Mix in the spinach, salt and pepper powder.
Mix well.
Mix in salt, pepper powder, melted butter and milk.
Mix well, to avoid lumps.
