Spinach Kootu Recipe
This kootu can be had with plain rice and also with chapatti. This same type can be prepared with any keerai variety.

Ingredients
| Chopped spinach | 1 Bunch (100gm), washed | |
| Onion | 1/2 , chopped | |
| Tomato | 1 , chopped | |
| 3/4 tsp kulambu powder or 1 tsp chilli powder & 2 tsp corrainder powder | ||
| Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1 Pinch | |
| 1/2 cup thoor daal | ||
| Oil | 1 Teaspoon (To Season:) | |
| 1 tsp mustard seeds & urad daal | ||
| 5 count curry leaves | ||
| Butter | 1 Teaspoon (To Season:) | |
Directions
* Cook the thoor daal with 1 cup water or little less with turmeric powder a pinch, and a drop of oil in cooker for 3 sounds or till mashed.
* To the cooked daal add this chopped spinach, onion, tomato, salt, sugar, kulambu powder and mix all.
* Pour about 1/2 cup of water and cook for 2 sounds.
* In a pan add oil, put mustard seeds let it splutter, put urud daal and curry leaves and pour this in the cooked Spinach kootu and last add 1/2 tsp butter in it to give a nice flavour, or can pour butter while you eat, in rice.
* To the cooked daal add this chopped spinach, onion, tomato, salt, sugar, kulambu powder and mix all.
