Spinach Cheese Strata Recipe

6 slices whole wheat bread
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 1/4 cups milk
6 eggs, lightly beaten
1 package (10 ounces) frozen spinach, thawed and well drained
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Spread bread with butter.
Arrange buttered slices in single layer in greased 13x9-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle with cheeses.
Combine milk, eggs, spinach, salt and pepper in large bowl; stir well.
Pour over bread and cheese.
Cover; refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.
Bake, uncovered, at 350°F about 1 hour or until puffy and lightly golden.
