Ingredients

 
1. 40-50 shrimps (shell removed)
 
2. 2 onions (chopped)
 
3. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
 
4. Few curry leaves
 
5. 1 tbsp red chilli powder
 
6. 2 tomatoes (chopped)
 
7. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
 
8. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
 
9. 2 tbsp oil
 
10. Coriander leaves for garnishing

Directions

1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions toll golden brown.
2. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds.
3. Now add the curry leaves, turmeric powder and chilli powder. Saute for some more time.
4. Now add the tomato and cook till mushy.
5. Add shrimp and cover and cook it on a low flame for about 10 minutes or until the shrimp are cooked.
6. Add garam masala powder, mix and cook for 2 more minutes.
7. Serve hot garnished with cut coriander leaves.

Dear sarita, your recipe looks very delicious but i have a small question how do u remove raw smell from shrimp.do u marinate it or boil it in hot water before cooking.bcos i brought big size shrimp when i cooked directly it give some smell.so what can i do for perfect shrimp

oh yes Shanti...there is a chance of meeting up in India...I think smaller tiger prawns are a good option because I used the same...And it cooks faster as we are not adding any water to this curry...

I m going to try this recipe this weekend. I have some lovely fresh water shrimp rom India in the freezer, but they are quite large. Do you think smaller Tiger prawns would be better for this recipe?
