Spicy Pork Patties Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground pork
1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced or mashed
2 tablespoons dry red wine
1/2 teaspoon each salt, pepper, and fennel or anise seed, Salad oil
Directions
Mix together the pork, crumbs, egg, garlic, wine, salt, pepper, and fennel seed.
Divide into 4 equal-sized portions and shape into patties about 1/2 inch thick.
If you saute the patties heat 1 tablespoon salad oil in a 10-inch frying pan over medium-low heat for 1 minute.
Lay the patties in the pan and cook 6 to 7 minutes on each side or until meat is no longer pink inside.
Or, if you broil the patties, place them on a broiler rack about 4 inches from the heat and cook about 6 minutes on each side or until meat loses pinkness.
