Spicy Chicken Recipe
Why a gourmet? Anybody can judge how appetizing and flavorful Spicy Chicken is. Even though Spicy Chicken is a Side Dish I relish it any time of the day. Chicken is the main ingredient in this Spicy Chicken. Surely, Spicy Chicken is a recipe one can try out any time.
Ingredients
1 Washington fryer, cut up
3/4c. flour
1/4 to 1/3 c. shortening or cooking oil
3 medium sized onions, chopped
2 c. tomato juice
1/3 c. chopped sweet mixed pickles
2 t. Worcestershire sauce
1 t. sugar
1 1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. dry mustard
1/4 t. oregano
1 small bay leaf
Directions
Rinse fryer and pat dry.
Roll in flour.
Heat shortening or cooking oil in large heavy skillet.
Brown chicken on all sides.
Remove from heat and drain off fat.
Mean while, in a bowl, combine chopped onions, tomato juice, chopped sweet mixed pickles, Worcestershire, sugar, salt, dry mustard, oregano and bay leaf.
Pour mixture over chicken in skillet.
Cover.
Bring to boiling point and cook over low heat until chicken is tender, about 1 hour.
Serve with baked potato, broccoli and apple crisp.
