Spicy Black Beans With Onion And Bacon Recipe

Ingredients

 
1/4 pound bacon, chopped
 
1 large onion, chopped
 
2 large garlic cloves, chopped
 
2 15 to 16 ounce cans black beans, rinsed, drained
 
1 16 ounce can diced peeled tomatoes
 
1 4 ounce can diced green chilies
 
2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
 
2 teaspoons dried oregano
 
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

Cook bacon in heavy large saucepan over medium heat until light brown, about 10 minutes.
Add onion and garlic and saute until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add all remaining ingredients.
Simmer until chili is thick, stirring frequently, about 12 minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
