Spicy Barbecued Pork Pot Roast Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 1/2 lbs pork butt or shoulder roast 1 kg | ||
| Dry mustard | ||
| Salt, pepper and sage | ||
| Fat | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 1 , diced | |
| Applesauce | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 cup barbecue sauce or ketchup 125 mL | ||
| Garlic powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 2 tbs dark steak sauce 30 mL | ||
Directions
Rub lean surfaces of the meat with dry mustard, salt, pepper and sage.
Heat fat in a deep Dutch oven.
Add the meat and brown on all sides.
Mix remaining ingredients together and spread on top.
Cover and bake at 300F (150C) for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until fork tender, turning the meat 2 or 3 times during cooking.
Lift meat to a hot platter and keep hot.
Skim fat from the sauce in the pan and serve separately.
