Ingredients

 2 1/2 lbs pork butt or shoulder roast 1 kg
 Dry mustard
 Salt, pepper and sage
 Fat2 Tablespoon
 Onion1 , diced
 Applesauce1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 1/2 cup barbecue sauce or ketchup 125 mL
 Garlic powder1/2 Teaspoon
 2 tbs dark steak sauce 30 mL

Directions

Rub lean surfaces of the meat with dry mustard, salt, pepper and sage.
Heat fat in a deep Dutch oven.
Add the meat and brown on all sides.
Mix remaining ingredients together and spread on top.
Cover and bake at 300F (150C) for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until fork tender, turning the meat 2 or 3 times during cooking.
Lift meat to a hot platter and keep hot.
Skim fat from the sauce in the pan and serve separately.
