Ingredients

| Sugar | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Water | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Butter | 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) | |
| Milk | 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), scalded | |
| Eggs | 2 Small, beaten | |
| Salt | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Nutmeg | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1⁄2 Teaspoon |
Directions
MAKING
1. In a saucepan sprinkle granular yeast and 1 tblsp sugar over warm (110°) water.
2. Alternately, in a saucepan add crumbled compressed yeast and 1 tblsp sugar on lukewarm (85°) water. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
3. In a large bowl keep mix butter and remaining sugar.
4. Pour hot milk over it and stir until butter melts. Cool until lukewarm.
5. Add yeast and eggs.
6. In a bowl sieve flour, salt and spices together.
7. Stir in yeast mixture and combine together.
8. Cover with a damp towel and let rise in warm place until doubled.
9. Lightly flour a flat board and turn the dough into it. Shape into a soft ball.
10. Roll the dough 1/2 thick. Keep aside for 20 minutes.
11. Cut with doughnut cutter.
12. In a vessel heat fat (365°) and fry 3 or 4 at a time for 3 minutes.
13. Drain on paper towel.
14. Sugar while warm.

15. Serve warm or cold.
