Spicy Prune Bread Recipe
Ingredients
2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground or grated nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup buttermilk
2 tsp vegetable oil
1 cup prunes, cooked, drained, pitted and diced
Directions
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
Stir in the oatmeal.
Add buttermilk and oil; stir to completely blend.
Fold in prunes.
Spread into a well-greased 9 x 5 in. (23 x 13 cm) loaf pan.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour or until done.
Turn out on rack to cool.
