Spicy Pear Coffee Cake Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 9-inch square spice cake | ||
| Pears | 3 | |
| Granulated Sugar | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 tablespoons red cinnamon candies | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 6 Tablespoon, melted | |
| Brown sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| California walnuts | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Salt | 1 Dash | |
| Milk | 2 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Prepare and bake your favorite spice cake recipe or one-layer size spice cake mix.
Pare, core, and slice pears.
Combine sugar, water, and cinnamon candies; heat to boiling; add pear slices.
Simmer over low heat till tender, 8 to 10 minutes; drain and cool.
Arrange pear slices on slightly warm cake.
Combine butter or margarine, brown sugar, nuts, salt, and milk; spoon over pears.
Place cake under broiler about 8 inches from heat; broil for 8 to 10 minutes, or till mixture bubbles and caramelizes slightly.
