Spicy Mulled Cider Recipe
Ingredients
1 quart apple cider
6 slices fresh ginger, each about the size of a quarter (optional)
3 strips orange zest (colored part of the rind)
8 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks, cracked
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
1 ln a large saucepan over moderate heat, stir together the cider, ginger if desired, orange zest, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and honey.
Bring the mixture just to a simmer, reduce the heat to low, and cook, partially covered, for 25 minutes.
Stir in the lemon juice and strain through a sieve intoanother heatproof container or individual mugs.
