Directions

MAKING
1. In a sifter, measure flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves
2. Cream butter and sugar till fluffy, beat egg into it and sift it all the dry ingredients, one third at a time alternately with coffee; add all the other ingredients
3. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of this mixture on greased cookie sheets with two inches of distance between them
4. Bake for ten minutes at 375°F, remove on to wire racks and allow to cool completely
