Spicy Apple Roll Recipe
Ingredients
| Plain flour | 8 Ounce | |
| Butter | 4 Ounce | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Water | ||
| Butter - 2 oz, molten | ||
| Cooking apples - 1 lb, peeled, cored and sliced | ||
| All bran breakfast cereal - 2oz | ||
| Mixed spice | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Brown sugar | 3 Ounce | |
| Sultanas | 3 Ounce | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Turn the oven to 425°F/220°C/Gas 7
MAKING
2. Knead all the ingredients for pastry together into a dough, cover and chill for half an hour
3. Knead into an oblong and roll out into dimensions of 15"X10"; brush with molten butter
4. Mix in all the other ingredients for the filling and spead it inside the pastry
5. Roll the pastry up like a Swiss roll and tuck the ends in neatly; place on a greased backing sheet and brush with the rest of the butter
6. Bake for fifteen minutes, turn the heat down to 375°F/190°C/Gas 5 and bake for another twenty minutes; remove and allow to cool
SERVING
7. Dust with icing sugar and cinnamon and serve with cream
