Directions

Place peach halves in 1 quart jar.
Heat remaining ingredients until syrup boils.
Pour on peaches; cool.
Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours.
VARIATIONS Spiced Apricots:
Substitute I can (30 ounces) apricot halves, drained, for the peach halves.
Spiced Pears: Substitute 1 can (29 ounces) pear halves, drained, for the peach halves; 1/2 to 1 teaspoon red or green food color can be added to sauce.
Pears will be fully colored in 12 hours.
Spiced Pineapple: Substitute 1 can (30 ounces) pineapple chunks, drained, for the peach halves.
