Spiced Peach Butter Recipe
Ingredients
| 10 large fresh peaches, about 4 pounds | ||
| Juice of 2 lemons | ||
| Cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cloves | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | ||
Directions
Wash, pit and peel the peaches and cut them into chunks.
Process the peaches in a food processor or blender until coarsely chopped. (You will have the best success if you do this in several batches of 3 or 4 peaches.)
Combine the peaches, lemon juice, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a large, heavy saucepan.
Simmer for 1 to 2 hours, stirring frequently, until the mixture is quite thick.
Remove the peach butter from the heat and sweeten to taste with sugar.
Stir the sugar into the hot butter to dissolve it completely.
