3 medium onions
3 medium tomatoes
50 g/2 oz butter or margarine
175 g/6 oz split lentils
1.2 litres/2 pints stock
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the topping:
Little cream or yogurt
Cashew nuts
Directions
Peel and chop the onions.
Skin and chop the tomatoes.
