Spiced Baby Turnips Recipe

Ingredients
1 lb baby turnips
1/4 cup butter
Salt
Pepper
3 tbsp honey vinegar
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp cornstarch (cornflour)
3 tbsp white port wine
Directions
Peel and rinse the turnips, slice into 1/4 inch (6 mm) slices and each slice into four.
Put the turnips in a casserole and add 1/3 cup (4 1/2 table spoons) of water, the butter, and salt and pepper to taste.
Cover and microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes.
Add the vinegar and sugar and stir well.
Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH for 12 minutes, stirring once ortwice during cooking.
Mix the cornstarch (cornflour) to a smooth paste with the port wine.
Add to the turnips, stir and cook for 1 further minute.
Put the turnips in a casserole and add 1/3 cup (4 1/2 table spoons) of water, the butter, and salt and pepper to taste.
