Spiced Apricot Sauce Recipe
This Spiced Apricot Sauce tastes awesome ! Brush it over barbecued chicken, or just dip the chicken chunks into the Spiced Apricot sauce dip . Also you can glaze your barbecued chikcen with the Spiced Apricot Sauce for a truly mouthwatering experience !
Ingredients
| 1 10 ounce jar apricot preserves | ||
| Rind and juice of 1 lemon | ||
| Pinch of cinnamon | ||
| Pinch of cloves | ||
| 1 teaspoon arrowroot or 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon cold water | ||
Directions
Melt the apricot preserves in a small heavy saucepan, adding the juice and rind of a lemon and the spices.
Strain the contents of the pan and return the clear liquid into a clean Saucepan.
Dissolve the arrowroot or cornstarch in the water and add to the sauce.
As the sauce comes to the boiling point, it will thicken.
This sauce can be used hot or cold.
Note: Arrowroot is used in preference to cornstarch to make a clearer more shiny sauce.
However, if you are not able to find any arrowroot, cornstarch is a good substitute.
