Spiced Peaches In Cider Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 kg. / 1 lb. peaches, skinned and halved | ||
| 225 g. / 8 oz. sugar | ||
| 5 ml. / 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon | ||
| 5 ml. / 1 teaspoon ground allspice | ||
| 5 ml. / 1 teaspoon ground coriander | ||
| 2.5ml. / 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves | ||
| 1.25 ml. / 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg | ||
| 75 ml. / 3 fl. oz. cider | ||
Directions
Put the peach halves into a large saucepan.
Mix the sugar and spices together and sprinkle over the peaches.
Pour over the cider and bring to the boil.
Simmer gently for 3 minutes.
With a slotted spoon, carefully transfer the peaches to wide-necked sterilized jars.
Boil the syrup for 5 to 10 minutes, or until it starts to thicken.
Pour over the peaches and seal.
