Spiced Lemonade Recipe
Ingredients
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 3-inch-long cinnamon sticks | ||
| Whole Cloves | 6 | |
| Water | ||
| Lime | 1 Large | |
| 6 medium-sized lemons | ||
| Ice cubes | ||
Directions
1. In 3-quart saucepan over high heat, heat sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and 4 cups water to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat; discard cinnamon sticks and cloves.
2. Meanwhile, cut lime and 1 lemon into thin slices; cut each slice in half. Grate 1 tablespoon peel from lemon. Squeeze remaining lemons to make 3/4 cup juice.
3. To spiced sugar mixture, add lemon juice, lemon and lime slices, grated lemon peel, and 3 cups water. Cover and refrigerate lemonade at least 1 hour to chill and blend flavors.
