Spiced Currant Sauce Recipe

This spiced currant sauce is a homemade sauce made with pineapple juice and red currant jelly. A cooked sauce, the spiced currant sauce is easily prepared in a saucepan and flavored with added ground cloves. Thickened with cornstarch, it is a great condiment or side for poultry dishes and roasts.

Ingredients

 
1/2 cup red currant jelly
 
1/2 cup pineapple juice
 
1 tablespoon brown sugar
 
1 tablespoon cornstarch
 
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions

Combine all ingredients in small saucepan, stirring until cornstarch dissolves.
Cook and stir over medium heat until sauce comes to boil and thickens.
Cook and stir 1 minute more.
