1/2 cup (125 mL) butter or margarine
 
1/2 cup (125 mL) milk
 
2 cups (500 mL) sugar
 
1/4 cup (60 mL) unsweetened cocoa
 
1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
 
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla or almond extract
 
1/2 cup (125 mL) peanut butter
 
3 cups (750 mL) quick-cooking oatmeal

Directions

€¢ Place in a microwave-safe bowl the butter or margarine and milk. Microwave 1 minute at HIGH. Stir.
€¢ Add sugar, cocoa and salt. Microwave 4 minutes at HIGH. Stir well.
€¢ Microwave 1 more minute at HIGH.
€¢ Add vanilla or almond extract and peanut butter. Stir until well mixed.
€¢ Add the oatmeal. Stir well and drop by teaspoons on waxed paper or cookie sheet.
€¢ Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours
