Spiced Bulgur With Apple Recipe
Ingredients
| Salad oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 medium-size onion, chopped | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), pressed | |
| Minced ginger | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Cracked wheat | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 1/2 cups regular-strength chicken broth | ||
| Red apple | 1 Small | |
| Golden Raisins | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pistachios | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
Directions
In a 3- to 4-quart pan, combine oil, onion, garlic, and ginger.
Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until onion is limp, about 5 minutes.
Add bulgur; cook, stirring, until lightly toasted, about 3 minutes.
Stir in cinnamon and broth; bring to a boil on high heat.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the bulgur is tender to bite, about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, core and finely dice apple; stir with raisins into pilaf.
Add salt to taste.
Spoon into a bowl.
Garnish with pistachios.
