Directions
1 In a bowl, add milk and soak bread in it for 5 minutes.
2 Add in sugar, butter, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger.
3 Pour the mixture slowly over the eggs.
4 Add vanilla and raisins, mix well.
5 In a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole or baking dish, pour the mixture.
6 Bake in a pan of hot water in 350°Fahrenheit oven for 1 hour or until silver knife comes out clean when inserted in center.
SERVING
7 Serve with lemon or orange sauce or Creme Anglaise, if desired.
