2 cups water (use beet juice water)
 
3 cups cider vinegar
 
3 cups sugar
 
2-3 tablespoons whole allspice
 
1 gallon cooked sliced beets

Directions

Bring water, vinegar and sugar to a boil; add allspice.
Pour over beets and let stand several hours.
Can be served hot or cold.
Keeps well for at least 2 weeks in refrigerator.
This is a lavorite recipe of all who eat it.
