Spice Loaf Cake Recipe
The spice loaf cake is a spiced up bread loaf made with flour and flavored with apple sauce. I came up with this creation in an attemptto make something better than a regular sweet loaf! Baked with added raisins and three spices can be served as a snack or dessert with a sweet syrup.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup applesauce
1 cup raisins (and/or currants, or dates, if desired)
Directions
Heat oven to 350°F.
Grease a 12x4x3 inch loaf pan (or whatever size you have).
Combine first 9 ingredients.
Mix well.
Add eggs and applesauce and mix well.
Add more applesauce or water if mixture is too thick.
Add raisins.
Pour into loaf pan.
Bake 50 to 60 minutes.
