Spice Muffins Recipe
Spice muffins are sweet and snacky muffins flavored with a three spice medley. Flavored with ginger, cinnamon and cloves, the spice muffins are oven baked for a nice and soft texture. Served with tea or coffee or just as snacks, they are great.
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper white | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Shortening | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Powdered ginger | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| Eggs | 2 , Well beaten | |
| Molasses | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ground cloves | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Buttermilk | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon |
Directions
Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
Set aside.
Work shortening and sugar together in a bowl, beat in eggs vigorously, then stir in the molasses.
Stir in flour mixture and buttermilk alternately.
Pour batter into a greased muffin tin and bake in a preheated 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until a cake tester or toothpick inserted in the center of one muffin comes out dry.
