Spice Cake With Hot Apple Topping Recipe

| Skim milk | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) (Cake:) | |
| Light corn syrup | 1/3 (Cake:) | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon (Cake:) | |
| Apple pie filling | 1 Can (10oz) (Apple Topping:) | |
| Cinnamon | 1 Teaspoon (Apple Topping:) | |
| 1/4-1/2 cup Grape-Nuts cereal | ||
| Cornstarch | 1 Tablespoon (Apple Topping:) | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Teaspoon (Apple Topping:) | |
Directions
Spray a 9-inch square pan with a non-fat cooking spray.
In a large bowl combine flour, brown sugar, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.
In a medium bowl, using a wire whisk, mix Egg Beaters, milk, corn syrup, and vanilla.
Add to flour mixture; stir until smooth.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350°F.for 25-30 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack.
Apple Topping: In a medium saucepan heat apple pie filling, cinnamon, cornstarch, and lemon juice until thickened.
Spread over cooled cake and sprinkle Grape-Nuts over the top if desired.
Serve with a dollop of Dream Whip on top.
