Special Swiss Steak Recipe
Ingredients
2 pounds beef top round steak
1/2 inch thick
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons cornstarch
3 to 4 large tomatoes, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup beef broth
1 medium onion, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning
2 cups (ft pint) whole cherry tomatoes
1 package (10 ounces) frozen whole green beans
1 package (10 ounces) frozen pearl onions
Directions
Pound steak on both sides with a meat mallet or flat side of cleaver.
Cut into 4 pieces and set aside.
Place butter in 2 1/2-quart shallow micro-proof casserole.
Cook on HI, 2 minutes.
Add cornstarch and stir until well blended.
Stir in tomatoes, broth, onion, Worcestershire and Italian seasoning.
Add steak.
Spoon sauce over steak.
Cover with casserole lid.
Cook on 50, 35 minutes.
Rearrange meat.
Arrange cherry toma-toes, beans, and onions on top.
Cover and cook on 50, 20 minutes.
Cut into 4 pieces and set aside.
