Spareribs And Cabbage Recipe
Ingredients
3 Ibs. spareribs
1 sprig thyme or generous pinch of thyme leaves
2 onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon salt, or salt to taste
3 bay leaves
1 3 lb. cabbage
1 teaspoon black or white pepper
3 large potatoes, peeled
Directions
Cover the ribs with water, add the onions, garlic, and all seasonings, and boil until tender.
Take the ribs from the water (save the water), place them in a baking pan, and brown them in a 450° oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove the core from the cabbage and cut it in quarters.
Cut the potatoes in quarters.
Place the potatoes and cabbage in the water used to cook the spareribs and boil until the potatoes are cooked.
Place the ribs on a large platter and arrange the cabbage and potatoes around them.
