Delicious Spanish Cream Recipe
My longing for Spanish Cream strengthened during high school days. It is a Spanish cuisine delicacy. This Spanish Cream when served as Side Dish is sure to please your family members. I am certain both of us will be in agreement that this Spanish Cream is really delicious.
Ingredients
1 envelope (1 tablespoon) unflavored gelatin
3 eggs, separated
2 cups skim milk (count 2/3 cup skim milk per serving), scalded
1/4 cup cream-flavored dietetic carbonated beverage
Dash salt
Directions
Sprinkle gelatin over carbonated beverage in top part of double boiler.
Place over low heat, stirring constantly until gelatin dissolves, about 3 minutes.
Set top over bottom part of double boiler holding water.
Add hot milk, egg yolks, salt.
Cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
Whip egg whites until stiff and fold into hot mixture (hot mixture cooks the whites).
Turn into mold or 3 individual crystal dessert dishes.
Chill until firm.
Place over low heat, stirring constantly until gelatin dissolves, about 3 minutes.
