Spanish Steak And Rice Recipe
Ingredients
1 6-ounce package instant Spanish rice mix
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds beef cubed steaks, cut into 1/2-inch-wide strips
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 medium green pepper, cut into strips
1/4 cup hot-style catsup
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon sugar
Directions
Prepare rice mix according to package directions.
Meanwhile, in large skillet brown half the meat at a time in hot oil.
Return all meat to pan.
Add pepper.
In screw-top jar mix catsup, cornstarch, sugar, 1 cup cold water, and 1 teaspoon salt.
Shake to blend; add to skillet.
Cook and stir till mixture bubbles.
Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes more.
Stir in hot rice; heat through.
