Spanish Rice and Beef Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 1/2 cups cut-up cooked beef | ||
| Onion | 1 Medium, chopped | |
| Butter margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 cup uncooked regular rice | ||
| Stewed tomatoes | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Chili powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Oregano leaves | 1/2 Teaspoon, dried | |
| Pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Cook and stir beef and onion in margarine in 10-inch skillet until onion is tender.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
Cover and simmer until rice is tender, about 30 minutes.
Spanish Rice and Ground Beef: Substitute 1 pound ground beef for the cooked beef.
Omit margarine.
Cook and stir ground beef and onion in 10-inch skillet until beef is light brown; drain.
Continue as directed.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
