Spaghetti with Romano Sauce Recipe

I first tried Spaghetti With Romano Sauce at my Canadian neighbors party. The taste completely bowled me over; asked them for the recipe and since then it has become a staple Sunday item in my household . It is an ideal Breakfast. The Canadian Spaghetti With Romano Sauce has an unique characteristic of addicting you to it on the first bite. This is an ideal dish to include in today's menu.

Ingredients

 
1 pound hamburger
 
1/2 pound spicy smoked Italian sausage,sliced
 
1 large onion,chopped
 
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
 
1-2 cloves garlic,crushed
 
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
 
3 cups water
 
2-3 fresh tomatoes,peeled and sliced,or 1 cup canned tomatoes
 
1-2 crushed chili peppers
 
1 teaspoon chopped mint or 1/4 teaspoon dried mint
 
1/2 bay leaf
 
I /4 teaspoon oregano
 
1 /4 teaspoon salt
 
1 pound spaghetti,cooked and drained, Parmesan cheese

Directions

Saute hamburger and sausage together until thoroughly cooked.
Pour off fat, and add onion, parsley and garlic.
Saute 5 minutes; add remaining ingredients except spaghetti and cheese.
Cook slowly until thickened; taste for seasoning.
Remove bay leaf before serving.
Serve over hot cooked spaghetti, and pass bowl of Parmesan cheese.
